Brian Cox, aka Nugz, has been behind the decks since 1995, when he first spun on Technics 1200s in his own basement.
Influenced early in his career by Plastikman, Moby, Sasha and Digweed, Portishead, and the Hardkiss brothers his record collection grew significantly. In search of the perfect bassline, Brian traveled the southeast rave scene.
While finishing a degree in fine art, Brian realized his purpose in life was to share electronic music with the world. At the same time Brian got his first regular gig at Soma in Boulder, Colorado voted as one of the top ten clubs in America by several dance music publications. At Soma, Brian played alongside the likes of BT, Mark Farina, Doc Martin, Hybrid, and many others.
After regularly rocking clubs, bars, house parties and outdoor venues in the Denver/Boulder area, Brian secured his first residency in the mile high city at the massive Club Vinyl where he played for packed crowds until the building was destroyed after the roof caved in due to heavy snow.
Now residing in San Francisco, Brian spins at various clubs, bars, and underground locations around the city and is known to kill it with his unique blend of dark, dirty, techy, funky rhythms. His style is now described as an eclectic mix which crosses all genre boundaries and has undertones of deep soulful flavor.
